If I was a co-op player myself, I wouldn’t mind at all, especially since I’m not used to co-op quests.

I prefer cooperative exploration, as has always been the case in all TG tournaments. Especially with all the National Cup trophies this tournament is trying to keep up with. The Switch is great for casual TGs where the noob friendly features don’t really mean much.
This is about race. If your team’s play is very poor without a unified vision, then work on your relationship with your teammates, as this is a skill that can be greatly improved just by playing when the voting is going on.
I really don’t like one important skill being removed from team play. We are going in the wrong direction. There is no excuse for the game being too easy for SE to claim X other than laziness.

It makes no sense to classify TG as part of the seeding process and turn it off at the end.
Most TG events don’t even use TG ratings as part of the seeding process, so we see this as a step forward. It doesn’t have to be the same as in previous World Cups. If we want, we have more than 30 maps in the pool
Full disclosure, I’m not a big fan either, and regular TGs probably help best. This is what most players want to add.

Combined vision is another quality of life improvement like MQ or download queue and many other features and is standard in most other RTS. Why is communication artificially limited until you build a market? Games with an integrated view option will increase the skill even more, as the team plays even faster than the old feudal lord.
There is no good argument against the unified view, like many of the quality of life improvements over the years, other than that it is new. Unfortunately, such discussions are repeated many times, trying to preserve their preferences and keep the game in the past.

Good news and well done to everyone trying to make it happen! Well done to everyone who contributed to the donation, this community is something else. While we’re lucky MS supports a lot of events these days, I think it’s nice to see a community-driven event.
I would like to add that I completely agree that co-op should not be a serious team play competition. Team games are supposed to be about great coordination, but cooperative exploration eliminates that. I understand why the developers put it in top games, but tournaments are a different animal. Plus…I feel strongly about this as something like the Nations Cup. Cup of Nations returns to AoE2 and has a more casual feel. This change will seem out of place to you and will probably reduce your respect and interest in the sport. Just my two cents!!

Advancing To The Next Age
We fully support co-op in high-level games as it helps low-level/solo players play with full teams.
The competitive level of play is a completely different story. Here we need to see a display of skill where the strongest players/teams can shine the most.
MQ/shift queues are a new QoL addition that helps make the game easier and less time consuming and frustrating things like queuing for 1000 different warehouses in a kingdom. He played a lot of team games out of boredom. You don’t have to ask your partner where you can coordinate attack/defense, you don’t have to know what your partner is going to do next, because you can see each other without investing. You can also play without voice call as it is not required (except X shots on one side/pocket/other side missed something)
